Rules for suspension and restoration of market activities is written in accordance with the Energy Law, also taking into consideration relevant European Union regulations, as well as obligations deriving by EMS AD membership in the European Network of Transmission System Operators ENTSO-E.

The Rules for suspension and restoration of market activities define cases in which the transmission system operator may suspend market activities in the electricity sector. The procedure for restoration of suspended market activities is regulated, and it is carried out by the transmission system operator in coordination with neighboring transmission system operators, the distribution system operator, operators of closed distribution systems, and the electricity market operator.
