EMS is assigned the role of local issuing office for EIC codes. EIC is issued according to the ENTSO-E’s scheme and standards. EIC must be unique in the European electricity market.

A business company or entrepreneur possessing a licence for carrying out the energy activity of: electricity production, CHP production, electricity transmission and transmission system control, electricity supply has the right to submit a request for energy identification code. After obtaining the EIC code such entity is enabled to participate in the EMS’s market area.

Any interested business company or entrepreneur may submit application for EIC by completing the form available at web page link. The completed form shall be sent to e-mail of a local issuing office eic.office@ems.rs. Only fully completed form will be taken into consideration.

The granted EIC becomes publicly available on website of EMS JSC (Register of assigned codes) and ENTSO-E’s web site : ENTSO-E association

After processing the duly completed application EMS will send information on the awarded EIC via e-mail. The information shall include company’s name and abbreviated name; core activity(-ies), validity date and any note. The granted EIC becomes publlicly available on ENTSO-E’s web site : ENTSO-E association

The Local Issuing Office assume no responsibility or liability for the accuracy and the completeness of the information provided by an entity requesting an EIC code. In no event shall a Local Issuing Office be liable for any damages of any kind, including, but not limited to, direct, indirect, general, special, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of any inaccuracy or incompleteness of the information provided by an entity requesting an EIC code.

The Local Issuing Office shall use the provided information solely for the purpose of obtaining the EIC code, in accordance with European and national regulations.
